Bob is a third-generation Montanan and has lived all over the US, landing in Georgia in 1975. He was a technical director at a satellite TV station for five years, where they uplinked WTBS and CNN In the early days of cable TV. Bob moved to Carrollton in 1984 and with a lot of family assistance opened the Maple Street Mansion restaurant. The family sold the restaurant in 2006. Bob is married to Pam DeLoach Uglum and they have two sons John Dean and Parker (and Carrollton’s unofficial mascot, Tater, their golden doodle). As past president and lieutenant governor for Kiwanis, Bob has for years organized one of Carrollton’s largest annual social events, the Kiwanis-Southwire Pancake Breakfast, which raises money for local youth charities. He attends Southern Hills Church and serves on the welcome committee and jail ministry. His hobbies include traveling, bicycling the Greenbelt and dirt bike adventures.
