Position Information
Description: Under general supervision, operates water plant equipment, performs daily inspections, and records various equipment readings. Responsibilities include collecting water samples, performing water analysis, monitoring equipment operations as well as performing maintenance and janitorial duties relating to plant facilities. Reports to Chief Operator.

Training and Qualifications: High School diploma or GED equivalent (Associate’s degree preferred) with three (3) years of experience as a water operator; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position. Must possess and maintain a valid Class I Water Operator License issued by the State of Georgia.

Physical Requirements: Must be physically able to operate a variety of machines and equipment including a pH meter, spectrophotometer, pumps, crane, etc. Must be able to use body members to work, move or carry objects or materials. Must be able to exert up to fifty pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to thirty pounds of force frequently. Physical demand requirements are at the levels of those for active work. Must be able to lift and/or carry weight of fifty to one hundred pounds.
