Position Information
Description: Gymnastics coaches work part-time during the fall, winter, spring, and summer sessions. Coaches will instruct assigned events and teams. Knowledge on proper skill development, spotting techniques, teaching and understanding USA compulsory routines and proper class management is required. Gymnastics coaches will attend and coach gymnastics meets during the winter & spring which requires weekend travel and experience with management of teams in a competitive environment as well as knowledge of the AAU and USA gymnastics rules and policies. Must be willing and able to be AAU and USA certified.
Training and Qualifications: Minimum age of 16; knowledge of skills necessary to instruct compulsory and xcel level gymnastics levels 3-6 and xcel gold; passes leadership skills; be able to commit to coaching summer and competitive gymnastics season; good communication skills; knowledge of using equipment safely and effectively and the ability to administer first aid.
