Carrollton GreenBelt Bike Event Application


Applicant Information

This application is for bike ride events using the Carrollton Greenbelt.

Event Description

Include a list of activities scheduled. (ex: 6:30-7:00 - setup, etc.)
The time will you begin to set up for this event.
Must be concluded no more than 3 hours after close of event.

If any portion of the GreenBelt is used during an event, the organizer must provide a map of the route from start to finish. Please see below to calculate how many Police Officers and EMS may be needed. Please describe the route (start, finish location, direction, any stops or aid stations along the route, and so on). These Police/EMT fees must be paid on the day of the event by the Renter. If Emergency/Police personnel are needed, their fees are calculated at $50 per person per hour. Police Department: at least one officer is needed per street crossing (2 hours minimum). Fire Department: two EMT’s are required at all times during the event (2 hours minimum).

Contract Terms

Thank you for choosing the City of Carrollton to host your Disc Golf event. The Carrollton Parks and Recreation Department puts every effort into providing a clean, functional, and beautiful location for our users. In return, we ask that you review the General Rental Rules below. Your organization and event attendees will need to follow all rules and leave the disc golf area in a clean condition.

We encourage you to walk through your selected venue a week prior to your event to check for any issues you may encounter. Please report any concerns with outdoor spaces to the Parks Director, Kent Johnston. Please have a Building Supervisor assigned to the specific location assist you with any additional needs you may have if using one of the indoor facilities.

It is our sincere desire that your group makes full use of it and enjoy the amenities provided!

General Rental Rules:
  • If your event utilizes any portion of the GreenBelt, you must abide by the guidelines within this contract and by GreenBelt Trail Rules (available at Trailheads and online at CarrolltonGreenBelt.com)
  • The GreenBelt Trail, Lakeshore Walking Track, Lakeshore Park, Lumpkin Drive, Believers Blvd, or any adjacent facilities will not be closed at any time. Please respect that other patrons will likely be on the trail during your event.
  • Existing programs will not be canceled to accommodate GreenBelt events.
  • We will not provide tables or chairs for outdoor events. If renting an adjacent indoor facility then two tables and four chairs will be provided for registration, if requested.
  • When your event is over, please make sure all your decorations, food, etc. are removed.
  • Do not stack garbage on top of or on the side of trash containers. Trash that will not fit in the trash bins and would prevent the lids from closing must be removed from the premises by the event staff.
  • Actions that cause damage to natural resources and facilities, as well as actions that cause unreasonable disturbances or unsafe conditions for visitors are not permitted.
  • You may not mark the trail in any way – if you need to turn runners around use cones and staff pointers.
  • Payment is due at the time the event is scheduled with our reservation specialist. If you wish to cancel your event, it must be canceled a week prior to the event in order to receive a full refund.
  • The undersigned understands they are responsible for completing the checklist on page 5 of this packet. Failure to do so may result in the event being declined, canceled or rescheduled.
  • The City of Carrollton will not be held responsible for any accidents or injuries that occur while you are on City property, all accidents or injuries are the sole responsibility of the Contract Holder.
  • All Police & Fire Personnel used must be officers from City of Carrollton Departments, no outside officers or EMT’s can be used for GreenBelt Events.

  • Event Rules
  • No bike races or timed events will be held on the GreenBelt.
  • The trail does not close for events and bikers will encounter pedestrians. Pedestrians always have the right of way.
  • Riders must obey all traffic laws, posted signs and street crossing signals.
  • Reckless use of bicycles which endangers other trail users is prohibited.
  • The host organization must require all riders wear helmets, regardless of age. All persons in bike carts must also wear helmets.
  • Agreement and Signature

    The undersigned has read and on behalf of the Licensee agrees to be bound by this Permit/License and the Terms and Conditions contained herein and attached hereto, and hereby warrants and represents that he/she executes this Permit/License on behalf of the Licensee and has sufficient power, authority and capacity to bind the Licensee with his/her signature.
