The winners of the Carrollton Writers Guild/Center for the Arts High School Creative Writing Contest were honored at a luncheon on March 5. The annual competition features local literary artists in grades 9 – 12 that write poetry and short stories. The contest was funded by the Fulford Foundation, Carrollton Writer’s Guild, Carrollton Civic Woman’s Club, Vabella Publishing and Jill Pierce, State Farm Insurance.

Since 1989, the contest has become a significant event for high school students. The High School Creative Writing Contest continues to reward and encourage the significant writing talent of the county’s young authors and celebrate their artistic accomplishments.
