The Carrollton Flexettes gymnastics team vaulted into the regional competition this weekend.
“We are so proud of the gymnasts that competed at Xcel Regionals,” said Gymnastics Coordinator Kaitlyn Gosnell. “They did a fantastic job and all of their hard work this season showed! All the Carrollton Flexettes qualified to their AAU or USA State Meet, which is a huge accomplishment in itself, but then to qualify to regionals, each gymnast must be in the top 20 percent of her level, regardless of age or experience.”
For a gymnast to qualify for the Georgia State Team, they must be in the top eight in their level. The state team represents Georgia against the rest of the states in Region 8: Florida, Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.
