Position Information
Description: Under limited supervision, performs general maintenance and construction duties for the City of Carrollton. Duties include performing construction type duties such as masonry work, remodeling, carpentry, etc. Performs building maintenance on City facilities. Supervises assigned projects from start to finish. Reports to the General Services Superintendent.
Training and Qualifications: High School diploma or GED equivalent with five to ten years of general maintenance, construction (or related) experience required; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position.
Physical Requirements: Must be physically able to operate a variety of tools and equipment, such as a pickup truck, hammers, pliers, screwdrivers, mechanic tools, janitorial equipment, a variety of saws to include a hand saw, circular saw, table saw, etc. Must be able to use body members to work, move or carry objects or materials. Must be able to exert up to sixty pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to forty pounds of force frequently. Physical demand requirements are at levels of those for active work. Must be able to lift and/or carry weight of forty to sixty pounds.
