NOTICE OF ELECTION TO THE QUALIFIED VOTERS OF THE CITY OF CARROLLTON, GA
Notice is hereby given that on the 7th day of November 2023, an election will be held in the regular six (6) polling places for the City of Carrollton.
This election will be for the following offices:
Mayor – Qualifying Fee of $180
City Council, Wards 3 & 4 – Qualifying Fee of $108
City School Board: Wards 1 & 4 – Qualifying Fee of $126
City School Board: At Large Seat – Qualifying Fee of $126
Qualifying will take place in the office of the Carrollton City Clerk, Carrollton City Hall, 315 Bradley Street, Carrollton, GA beginning at 8:30am on Monday, August 21, 2023 and ending on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at 4:30pm. Daily hours for qualifying are 8:30am to 4:30pm.
All candidates offering for Mayor must be a registered voter in the City of Carrollton for a period of twelve months prior to the election, a citizen of the United States of America, at least 25 years of age with all city due taxes paid.
All candidates offering for City Council must be a registered voter in the City of Carrollton for a period of twelve months prior to the election, live in the ward you are qualifying for, a citizen of the United States of America and be at least 21 years of age with all city due taxes paid.
All candidates offering for School Board by Ward must be a registered voter in the City of Carrollton for a period of twelve months prior to the election, live in the ward you are qualifying for, and be at least 21 years of age. All candidates offering for School Board At Large must be a registered voter in the City of Carrollton for a period of twelve months prior to the election and be at least 21 years of age.
The last day to register to vote in this election will be Tuesday, October 10, 2023.
In the event of a runoff from this election, it will be held on Tuesday, December 5, 2023.
