Position Information
Description: Under limited supervision, this job is responsible for managing the formulation and administration of all athletic and aquatics programs and activities provided to the community. Duties include supervising staff; monitoring programs; communicating with the community to ensure that the athletic and aquatic programs promoted and implemented by the City are appropriate and effective; and overseeing the maintenance of all ball fields and facilities used for athletic and aquatic programs. Reports to the Director of Parks and Recreation.

Training and Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Recreation Management (or related field); with 3-5 years of progressive management experience as a Coordinator or Supervisor of a similar sized division within a similar department; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position. Must have or obtain Certified Pool Operator Certification within first 6-months of employment. Must have or obtain Certified Parks & Recreation Professional Certification within first 6-month of employment.

Physical Requirements: Must be physically able to operate a variety of office equipment, such as a computer, typewriter, calculator, etc. Must be able to use body members to work, move or carry objects or materials. Must be able to exert up to twenty pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to ten pounds of force frequently. Physical demand requirements are at levels of those for sedentary to active work. Must be able to lift and/or carry weights of twenty to forty pounds.
